Favour Jonathan (b. Benin City, Nigeria) is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, United Kingdom. Working across sculpture, photography, etching and installation, her practice is rooted in storytelling, historical research, and a deep engagement with identity, memory, and cultural legacy.

Through her sculptural works, Jonathan honours figures from Black African and Black British history, giving form to narratives of resilience, beauty, and transformation. Her public art becomes a living archive — one that invites dialogue and remembrance, bridging past and present. Grounded in community and education, her work extends beyond the studio into classrooms, youth centres, and public spaces, where art becomes both a mirror and a meeting place.

Her ongoing research explores the restitution and reinterpretation of the Benin Bronzes, in collaboration with the National Museum of Scotland and Museum de Fundatie in the Netherlands. Through this inquiry, she seeks to restore cultural memory, challenging institutional frameworks and reawakening connections to her ancestral heritage.

Jonathan has exhibited internationally, including at MAGNIN-A, Paris (FR); the Royal Academy of Arts, London (UK); the National Collection Centre, Coventry (UK); the Lagos Biennial, Lagos (NG); Copeland Gallery, London (UK); and Tate, London (UK). Her public commissions include sculptures for the National Collection Centre, Coventry (UK), and the Black Cultural Archives, Brixton (UK). Her work is also held in the permanent collection of Central Saint Martins’ Archival Collection, London (UK).
